Avocado Season

Summer is the peak avocado season! Avocados are considered one of the healthiest foods on the planet, as they contain an excess of 25 essential nutrients. Guacamole is the most common use for avocados but they also can be used in desserts, sushi, and are a great substitute in vegan/vegetarian recipes. Adding avocados to your green smoothie is a great source of protein, for a cool drink that is both delicious and nutritious. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

>1 banana
>1 avocado without pit
>1/2 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
>1 1/2 cups fresh orange juice
>1/4 cup honey
>2 1/2 to 3 cups ice

Directions:
In a blender, combine banana, yogurt, orange juice, honey, and ice. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
