The rise of snacking is still on the upswing. Frequent snacking is replacing regular meals for several consumers. In order to maximize profits and sales, operators and suppliers are offering a range of snacks, from light to filling and everything in between. It’s not just Millennials anymore. A new study shows that baby-boomers are picking up on the “try a little of a lot of things” trend. In fact, they have pushed past Millennials by ordering these small plates a staggering 20% more often.

For restaurants looking for ways to drive traffic and sales, especially in off-hours, snacking options may be the answer. Many are ditching the common appetizer offerings for more distinctive and ethnically infused options by combining flavor profiles with traditional preparations.
