Drink Mindfully

Consumers are willing to put their money where their heart is when it comes to goods from companies committed to social responsibility. According to Nielsen’s Global Survey on Corporate Social Responsibility, fifty-five percent of consumers say they are willing to pay more for products that have a positive social and environmental impact on our world. Nicholas and Company offers products to ensure that our footprint on this planet is as green as possible.

Clean Water for All – People Water

For every bottle purchased, People Water will give an equal amount of clean water to a person in need.  Through their Drop for Drop Initiative, People Water develops or restores new sources of clean water either by drilling a new well, repairing an existing well, or establishing a water purification system.  An average well delivers approximately 1,000 liters of clean water each day.

Direct and Fair Trade Sourcing – Numi Organic Tea

Numi values the people involved in every step of their business through direct and fair trade sourcing, thorough supply chain audits, and by embracing a company culture that values collaboration and diversity.  Through thoughtful choices, Numi Tea is committed to reducing impact on the planet: using organic teas, eco-responsible packaging, partnering with green partners to offset carbon emissions, and minimizing waste through the supply chain.  Numi Tea builds direct relationships with their farming partners to ensure quality and consistency of products, fair treatment of workers, better working and living conditions for an overall improved quality of life for families and communities.

Community Development – Runa

This certified organic, highly caffeinated, kosher tea is made from guayusa, which is grown almost exclusively in the upper region of Ecuador’s Amazon Rainforest. Runa seeks to use guayusa as a vehicle for good environmental stewardship by creating a fair trade market and generating an alternative income stream that continues to raise the standard of living for indigenous farmers.  In addition, RUNA Fundacion, a non-profit partner, works with farmers to research the impacts and benefits of guayusa production on the local environment and helps design land management plans that designate conservation areas and forest reserves.
